A Sunny Celebration of Local Food and Community
What a day it was — June 21st, the annual Open Day at our community farm! Under a bright summer sky, we welcomed visitors from near and far to experience what our farm is all about.
Thanks to the fantastic efforts of some of our members, the day was beautifully organized. Each of our volunteer groups had the chance to showcase their work — from planting and harvesting to composting, tool maintenance, and more. Visitors also got a look at our ongoing soil research, where we’re already seeing clear improvements in soil life and structure thanks to working without pesticides.
There was plenty of interest in our flourishing herb garden, and people learned how we distribute the harvest fairly and efficiently among members each week. And of course, our chickens got their share of attention — living in a natural, spacious environment, they’re a beloved part of the farm.
We were also happy to welcome a few guests from nearby villages, who shared their own inspiring stories about contributing to the environment and growing food locally. A wonderful exchange of ideas, experience, and passion for sustainable living.
The day was a big success, and once again we were able to show how much joy and benefit comes from producing local food, living with the seasons, and caring for the land together.
And the cherry on top? One of our members captured it all in a beautiful video, giving a warm and lively impression of the day. Want to relive it or see what you missed? Be sure to check it out!
